For Netflix is a Joke Fest 2024, Black Cat partnered with Superfly to transform the Hollywood Palladium over two weekends. Tasked with bringing the festival’s vibrant, park-inspired aesthetic to life, we designed immersive activations, including five mini-golf courses based on Stranger Things, Bridgerton, Emily in Paris, Love is Blind, and Squid Game. Along with a larger-than-life Big Mouth bull ride and a massive Netflix logo cube, we built out the VIP area and created the main stage centerpiece, delivering a joyful and impactful festival experience that resonated with attendees.

To launch Fenty Beauty’s new Eaze Drop Stick, Black Cat, in partnership with Redrock Entertainment, transformed a drive-up coffee shop and storage building into an immersive drive-thru and diner experience. Each guest was invited to have their shade matched by makeup artists, making the activation feel personal and memorable. The design balanced nostalgia with the brand's polished, chic aesthetic, creating an inviting space that felt both referential and fresh.

Black Cat collaborated with Redrock Entertainment to design three activations for CHAIN Food Festival, a two-day event in Hollywood. Panda Express envisioned an electric Chinese night market, blending authenticity with a contemporary edge. Chili’s leaned into nostalgia, recreating the warmth and inviting air of their original restaurants. Jack in the Box wanted to take a tongue-in-cheek approach to their booth, centering on the celebrity of their iconic mascot Jack. Each activation gave guests a rare opportunity to connect with these familiar brands in new, exciting ways.

In partnership with Southport Marketing, Black Cat designed a lively fan space at BMO Stadium to celebrate beloved local soccer teams, Los Angeles Football Club and Angel City Football Club. The space incorporates BMO’s vibrant, color-blocked aesthetic and features adaptable elements like dimensional logos and jersey displays that can be switched out to showcase whichever team is taking over the stadium that night. With a friendly atmosphere and photo opportunities, the installation creates memorable game-day experiences for fans.

As part of Netflix’s For Your Consideration event, Black Cat collaborated with Sparks to create an impactful display for Big Mouth. The custom-sculpted character figures, originally created for a mechanical bull ride at Netflix is a Joke festival, were repurposed and refinished to look brand new for the FYC showcase in 24 hours. Guests were invited to saddle the sculptures for a bold, irreverent photo moment, aligning with the show’s subversive humor and offering a memorable experience for attendees.
